Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s upcoming drama The Bengal Files is witnessing a slow start at the advance booking counters. Scheduled for release on 5th September, the film has managed modest figures so far. As per Sacnilk, it has recorded a gross of ₹4.81 lakh through advance bookings, selling 1,531 tickets across 390 shows till 11 AM.
Vivek Agnihotri has revealed that he has been receiving death threats amid the ongoing controversy surrounding The Bengal Files. In a recent interview, the filmmaker expressed his concern, saying, ‘Yes, I have a family, a wife and a child and naturally, I am worried about the current state of affairs. The issue is that while India has a rich history of socio-political films made by some of the greatest filmmakers, today it has become extremely challenging to create such films. How many of them truly dare to speak the truth?
