Vishu 2026 Malayalam Releases: Theatrical And OTT Lineup

Tovino Thomas’ much-anticipated film Pallichattambi is gearing up for its theatrical release on April 15, coinciding with the festival of Vishu. Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, the film is a period drama set in the late 1950s, focusing on the lives of migrant farming communities in Kerala’s high ranges. Penned by S. Suresh Babu, the movie features Kayadu Lohar and Vijayaraghavan in key roles. The ensemble cast also includes Prashanth Alexander, Baburaj, Johny Antony, Sudheer Karamana, T. G. Ravi, Sreejith Ravi, and Vinod Kedamangalam in supporting roles.

Oru Dhurooha Sahacharyathil is set for a festive box office clash with Pallichattambi, starring Tovino Thomas, this Vishu. Directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, the film is backed by Listin Stephen under Magic Frames, along with Kunchacko Boban producing it under Udaya Pictures. The film is expected to carry Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s signature storytelling style, blending satire, social commentary, and engaging narratives. Askar Ali’s crime thriller drama Sambhavam Adhyayam Onnu is gearing up for its OTT premiere on JioHotstar on April 15, 2026. The film is directed by debutant Jithu Satheesan Mangalathu and produced by Faras Mohamed, Fahad Sidheekh, and Fayez Mohammed under the banner of Nalla Cinema Productions. The technical crew includes Naveen Najose as the director of photography, Arjun Prakash as the editor, and Godwin Thomas, who has composed the film’s music and background score.

The upcoming Malayalam film Madhuvidhu, starring Sharafudheen and newcomer Kalyani Panicker, is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 17. Helmed by Vishnu Aravind, the movie introduces Kalyani, the daughter of Bindu Panicker, to the big screen. Positioned as a feel-good family entertainer, the script is penned by Bibin Mohan and Jai Vishnu. Inspired by the popular Tamil show Cooku with Comali, Comedy Cooks is all set to make its digital debut. Blending cooking with comedy, the show will be hosted by Bhavana and will feature a mix of actors and social media influencers as contestants. The fun-filled reality show is scheduled to start streaming on JioHotstar from April 18, 2026.
