Who Is Simar Bhatia? Akshay Kumar’s Niece Ready to Make a Strong Bollywood Debut With Ikkis

Simar Bhatia is a Bollywood actress and the niece of superstar Akshay Kumar. She spent her early years in Mumbai, growing up away from the public spotlight despite her film family background. She is the daughter of Akshay Kumar’s sister Alka Bhatia and her first husband Vaibhav Kapoor; following their separation, her mother later married real estate businessman Surendra Hiranandani in 2012. Raised with a grounded upbringing, Simar maintained a low profile before stepping into the film industry.

She completed her schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School and Oberoi International School, where she developed an early interest in the performing arts. To further refine her skills, Simar later moved to the United States for higher studies and professional acting training, laying a strong foundation for her future career in films.

Simar Bhatia makes her Bollywood debut opposite Agastya Nanda in the upcoming war drama Ikkis. In the film, she plays Kiran, the romantic interest of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, portrayed by Agastya Nanda.

Simar Bhatia is also gaining popularity on social media, especially on Instagram, where she has amassed more than 52k followers. She made her Instagram debut in 2020, sharing her first post that offered a glimpse into her personal style and life. 

Ikkis is a biographical war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, set during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film stars Agastya Nanda in his theatrical debut, alongside Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Simar Bhatia. Produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 1, 2026 and highlights courage, sacrifice, and heroism on the battlefield.
