Surbhi Jyoti was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, into a Punjabi Brahmin family. Her father is a businessman in the rubber chemical industry, and she has a younger brother, Sooraj Jyoti. Surbhi excelled academically and was a national-level debater. She earned a Master’s degree in English Literature from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.
Surbhi Jyoti began her career in regional theatre and radio before appearing in Punjabi films like Ik Kudi Punjab Di and Raula Pai Gaya. She gained nationwide fame in 2012 with her role as Zoya Farooqui in Qubool Hai, earning several awards. In 2018, she further strengthened her popularity by playing Bela in the hit series Naagin 3. She later expanded into films and digital platforms, making her Bollywood debut with Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai? (2021) and appearing in web series like Gunaah.
Surbhi Jyoti is married to actor and producer Sumit Suri, marking a love story that grew from professional collaboration to marriage and now parenthood. The two first met in 2018 during the shoot of the music video Haanji – The Marriage Mantra and reportedly began dating in 2019, keeping their relationship private for years before making it Instagram official in May 2024. Sumit proposed with a simple, heartfelt gesture, leaving a bottle with a lily and a ring for her. The couple tied the knot on October 27, 2024, at Aahana Luxury Resort in Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand.
Sumit Suri is an Indian actor and producer known for his work in Hindi films and web series. He began his career in the entertainment industry with over 30 advertisements before making his Bollywood debut in the 2013 3D thriller Warning. He later appeared in web series such as The Test Case (2017–2018) and Home (2018). Earlier, in 2011, he was also a contestant on the reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 4. Expanding his career, Sumit founded his own Mumbai-based production house, Good Hands Films, in 2019.
