Women's Day Special: Filmmakers Who Focus More On Female Characters In Tamil

Bharathiraja is one of the notable film makers in the industry, who  is best known for his blockbuster films like Sigappu Rojakkal, Manvasanai, Nizhalgal, Kizhake Pogum Rail, and Alaigal Oivathillai. He made his directorial debut in 1997 with ''16 Vayathinile'. Featured  Kamal Haasan, Sridevi, and Rajinikanth in lead roles, the film is considered as a pioneer in Tamil cinema. Talking about his characters, they are sensitive and real representation of rural life. As a film maker, his movies are mainly focused on the topics like women empowerment, insecurities, caste discrimination and complicated relationships.

K Balachander or KB is often remembered for introducing two superstars Kamal Hassan and Rajanjkanth to Tamil cinema. On other hand, he is the pioneer of women-centric movies.
