Mumbai:
Bollywood
movie
Fukrey
starring
budding
actors
in
lead,
has
concluded
the
first
week
with
a
decent
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
Debuted
with
a
poor
response,
the
movie,
which
has
been
made
with
a
shoe-string
budget,
has
gradually
improved
well
in
the
domestic
market.
But
the
romantic
comedy-drama
has
landed
in
the
second
spot,
while
Yeh
Jawaani
Hai
Deewani
topped
the
collection
chart.
Fukrey
had
a
poor
occupancy
in
the
morning
and
matinee
shows
on
Friday,
but
it
picked
up
marginally
in
evening
and
night
shows.
The
romantic
comedy
film
had
a
good
growth
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
It
performed
the
best
in
North
circuits.
It
collected
Rs
9.82
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
in
its
opening
weekend.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
2.62
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
3.10
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
4.10
cr
on
Sun.
Usually,
the
business
of
films
drops
by
50%
on
first
Monday
and
it
continue
to
sink
on
the
following
days.
Fukrey
was
not
an
exception
to
this
trend
and
it
did
show
50%
dip
on
Monday.
But
interestingly,
the
word
of
mouth
did
a
magic
with
the
film
maintaining
the
momentum
on
weekdays.
Instead
of
sinking,
the
movie
was
rock-steady
and
its
business
graph
showed
upward
trends
on
the
following
days.
Fukrey
has
collected
Rs
8.75
crores
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
on
the
weekdays,
taking
its
first
week
total
to
Rs
18.57
crores
nett.
Rs
2.15
cr
on
Mon,
Rs
2.25
cr
on
Tue,
Rs
2.20
cr
on
Wed
and
Rs
2.15
cr
on
Thu.
However,
two
much-hyped
movies
like
Raanjhanaa
and
Shortcut
Romeo
have
hit
the
screens
today.
It
should
be
seen
how
Fukrey
would
perform
in
the
second
week.
Directed
by
Mrighdeep
Singh
Lamba,
Fukrey
stars
Pulkit
Samrat,
Manjot
Singh,
Ali
Fazal,
Varun
Sharma,
Richa
Chadda,
Vishakha
Singh,
Priya
Anand
and
Pankaj
Tripathi
in
the
leads.
The
movie
was
appreciated
for
its
interesting
story,
well-crafted
screenplay,
natural
performances
and
melodious
music.
