Esha
Deol
birthday:
Dharmendra
and
Hema
Malini's
daughter
Esha
Deol
is
celebrating
her
42nd
birthday
on
Thursday
(November
2).
As
she
turns
a
year
older,
here's
a
Thursday
trivia
about
the
time
when
she
talked
about
convincing
her
dad
to
allow
her
to
act.
WHAT
ESHA
DEOL
SAID
ABOUT
CONVINCING
DHARMENDRA?
On
Simi
Garewal’s
talk
show,
a
teenage
Esha
Deol
openly
spoke
about
her
desire
to
enter
the
world
of
Bollywood
like
her
parents,
but
her
father's
approval
was
a
barrier.
Esha
and
her
younger
sister
Ahana
Deol
had
appeared
on
Rendezvous
With
Simi
Garewal
when
they
were
17
and
14
respectively.
She
had
said,
"I
am
interested
but
it
all
depends
on
what
my
father
has
to
say
about
it.”
Hema
Malini
added
on
this
and
unveiled
that
when
she
attempted
to
broach
the
subject
with
Dharmendra,
he
dismissed
it
instantly,
articulating
his
concern
for
his
daughters
and
preferring
they
stay
away
from
the
limelight
of
the
film
industry.
Dharmendra,
as
Esha
described,
was
a
protective
and
possessive
father,
with
traditional
values.
His
preferences
included
them
dressing
modestly
when
he
was
home
and
he
was
concerned
about
their
outings.
However,
with
their
mother’s
support,
they
were
able
to
pursue
their
interests
such
as
participating
in
state
level
sports
outside
Mumbai.
"He
doesn't
get
angry
but
he
is
very
possessive
about
us.
He
is
like
girls
have
to
sit
at
home
only,
Punjabi
type
of
things.
We
are
not
allowed
to
go
out
that
often
but
mumma
is
there,
so
we
manage
to
go
for
sports
and
all.
We
had
to
go
for
state-levels
outside
Mumbai," Esha
Deol
was
quoted
as
saying
by
Hindustan
Times.
Despite
her
father's
initial
reluctance,
Esha
Deol
made
a
successful
debut
in
Bollywood
in
2002
with
the
movie
'Koi
Mere
Dil
Se
Poochhe’.
Her
outstanding
performance
won
her
the
Filmfare
Award
for
Best
Female
Debut.
Since
then,
she
has
showcased
her
acting
skills
in
several
other
popular
films
such
as
Yuva,
Dhoom,
Dus,
No
Entry
and
Shaadi
No
1.
She
further
surprised
her
fans
by
revealing
a
waist
tattoo
she
had
hidden
for
11
years.
In
July
2021,
Esha
embarked
on
a
new
journey
as
she
turned
producer
with
the
short
film,
'Ek
Duaa',
directed
by
Ram
Kamal
Mukherjee.
Adding
another
feather
to
her
cap,
Esha
starred
in
the
film
which
portrayed
the
struggle
of
a
woman
fighting
for
equal
rights
and
love
for
her
daughter.
The
film
was
aired
on
Voot
Select.
On
the
professional
front,
Esha
Deol
was
last
seen
in
Hunter
Tootega
Nahi
Todega,
which
beamed
on
Amazon
MiniTV.
Here's
wishing
Esha
Deol
a
very
happy
birthday!
