2008
has
been
an
excellent
year
for
UTV.
They
battled
all
the
storms
and
still
saw
Jodhaa
Akbar
turning
out
to
be
a
bumper
success.
On
the
other
hand
Race
(which
was
acquired
by
them)
was
a
winner
from
Day
One
with
the
opening
falling
short
only
of
all
time
blockbuster
Om
Shanti
Om.
With
two
huge
successes
in
the
first
quarter
of
2008,
UTV
is
indeed
ecstatic
and
is
now
gearing
up
for
the
release
of
their
third
film
-
Aamir.
A
UTV
SPOTBOY
film
which
has
numero
uno
TV
star
Rajeev
Khandelwal
heading
the
film's
cast,
Aamir
is
a
thriller
directed
by
first
time
film
maker
Rajkumar
Gupta.
In
the
film,
Rajeev
plays
the
central
protagonist
'Aamir',
a
self
made
lower
middle
class
young
man
who
rises
to
be
a
doctor
in
the
city
of
London.
On
his
visit
to
Mumbai,
he
gets
lost
in
a
maze
of
Muslim
dominated
poor
areas
of
the
city,
its
lanes
and
by
lanes,
cheap
restaurants
and
lodges,
nameless
pimps
and
whores,
run-down
buildings
and
over-crowded
markets,
filth
and
squalor!
This
is
when
he
faces
the
question
around
whether
a
man
chooses
his
destiny
or
the
destiny
chooses
a
man.
And
the
decision
he
is
required
to
taken
sooner
or
later
is
-
whether
he
should
continue
to
be
a
follower
or
stand
up
as
a
leader.
A
Ronnie
Screwvala
production,
the
film
is
all
set
for
a
23rd
May
release.
