Uddhav Thackeray called on Anupam

Anupam Kher was in for a surprise when he received an unexpected call complimenting him for A Wednesday. It was from none other than Uddhav Thackeray who appreciated A Wednesday for a great piece of cinema that it has turned out and also complimented Anupam Kher for his bravura performance in the film.

"It was nice to hear from Uddhav Thackeray as he came out in his support for the film. It was a good gesture from him as he has quite a few good things to say about A Wednesday. I can see that the movie is working in a big way with everyone who is seeing it", says Anupam Kher who has been coming out in full support of the film for the last three weeks.

"When people say that this is my best work since Saraansh, I have all the right reasons to be flattered. Over the weekend even Shyam Shroff called up and said the same. Now he is a man who has been in the world of movies for decades now. Hence when a person of his experience says that, there is no reason why I shouldn't be proud of the film", beams Anupam Kher who also saw his Tahaan releasing alongside A Wednesday.

"It has been a great last few days for me", smiles Kher, "I am getting congratulatory calls from people whom I don't know at all. Am I minding that? Not at all. It is these very people who are taking the film forward through word of mouth. I haven't slept for last 3-4 days and don't even intend to in days to come. If coming together of Naseer bhai and me on a common platform and talking about the film helps it grow further, why not?"
