IBN LIVE reports that the writ petition has been filed after issuing two legal notices to Balaji Telefilms, the producers of the film. As the filmmakers failed to reply to the notices, Prasad decided to move the High Court over the issue.

A furious Prasad lashed out at the makers of The Dirty Picture and asked, “What right do the producer and the director have to make this film, without the family's consent?"

Vidya Balan's upcoming movie The Dirty Picture finally lands up in the High Court, after late actress Silk Smitha's brother filed a writ petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court alleging character assassination of his sister, and saying that the family was not contacted by the filmmakers.
