Director
Anurag
Basu
says
that
his
forthcoming
film
Barfi
would
not
have
been
made
if
Ranbir
Kapoor
had
not
agreed
to
be
a
part
of
it.
He
adds
that
he
is
a
very
spontaneous
actor
and
everyone
on
the
set
felt
very
sad
as
the
Rockstar
bid
goodbye
to
them
on
the
last
day.
The
romantic
comedy
Barfi
revolves
around
a
boy
named
Murphy,
whom
everyone
calls
Barfi.
He
is
someone
who
is
always
ready
with
a
prank,
he
is
quite
the
charmer
even
though
he
can
neither
speak
nor
listen.
Ranbir
essays
the
role
of
a
deaf
and
mute
person
and
he
excels
with
his
intricate
gestures
and
body
language,
which
reminds
one
of
Mr
Beans
and
Charlie
Chaplin.
Talking
to
PTI,
Anurag
Basu
gushes
that
he
has
written
the
script
of
Barfi
keeping
Ranbir
Kapoor
in
mind.
The
director
said,
"If
Ranbir
wouldn't
have
done
this
movie,
I
wouldn't
have
made
it.
I
always
had
Ranbir
in
my
mind
for
this
role.
Even
on
the
day
when
I
was
writing
the
10th
page
of
the
script."
Basu
said,
"Ranbir
as
a
person
is
very
spontaneous
and
naughty.
His
aura
is
such
that
I
remember
on
the
last
day
of
shoot,
Ranbir
was
bidding
good
bye
to
all
by
hugging
them.
I
saw
how
everyone
was
feeling
that
moment.
They
were
really
feeling
sad." The
director
added,
"I
don't
know
if
it
was
RK
or
'Barfi'
who
created
that
feeling
in
all."
However,
the
film
Barfi
is
releasing
on
September
14.
Actress
Priyanka
Chopra
is
playing
an
autistic
character
in
the
film.
Tollywood
actress
Ileana
D'Cruz
is
debuting
in
Bollywood
with
this
film.
