Bollywood
diva
Madhuri
Dixit
Nene
unveiled
her
wax
statue
at
Madame
Tussauds
in
London
on
Monday,
7th
March.
She
has
become
the
sixth
Bollywood
celebrity
to
have
her
statue
waxed
at
the
historic
museum.
The
44-year-old
Bollywood
star,
who
is
known
for
films
like
Devdas,
Dil
To
Pagal
Hai
and
Beta,
says
that
she
is
thrilled
to
be
the
part
of
it.
Talking
to
PTI,
Madhuri
Dixit
said,
"I
am
thrilled
to
be
here
in
Madame
Tussauds
unveiling
a
wax
figure
of
myself.
It's
incredible
just
how
detailed
the
figure
is
-
they
have
captured
my
look
beautifully!
I
feel
very
humbled
to
be
included
alongside
other
Bollywood
stars
and
some
of
my
personal
heroes."
Aishwarya
Rai
was
the
first
Indian
actress
to
enter
the
museum
back
in
2004.
Now,
she
is
the
second
actress,
who
is
getting
this
honour.
Madhuri
was
also
involved
in
the
creation
of
her
figure,
attending
a
sitting
in
Mumbai
where
sculptors
captured
a
catalogue
of
reference
photographs
and
hundreds
of
precise
measurements
to
create
the
staggering
likeness.
She
had
even
donated
the
exquisite
saree
which
her
wax
statue
is
wearing.
The
figure
took
four
months
to
build
at
a
cost
of
USD
150,000.
"We're
delighted
to
welcome
Madhuri
here
today
and
to
be
including
her
figures
in
our
A-list
line-up.
We
know
Bollywood
fans
will
also
be
delighted;
we
have
been
inundated
with
requests
to
make
Madhuri's
figure
and
we
hope
they
agree
it
is
a
wonderful
likeness.
With
so
many
awards
to
her
name
and
a
career
spanning
over
25
years
she
undoubtedly
deserves
her
place
here
at
Madame
Tussauds
London," the
PTI
quotes
Liz
Edwards,
PR
Manager
at
Madame
Tussauds
as
saying.
