have
officially
launched
a
mixed
martial
arts
(MMA)
fighting
league
called
'Super
Fight
League'
(SFL)
in
Mumbai
on
Monday.
The
first
SFL
event
will
be
held
in
Mumbai
on
March
11,
followed
by
Chandigarh
(April
7)
and
New
Delhi
(May
6).
Each
fight
night
will
have
a
minimum
of
seven
fights
comprising
36
different
styles
of
fighting
including
karate,
judo
and
kung-fu.
The
organisers
said
that
the
fight
would
be
followed
by
a
Bollywood
celebrity
act
and
an
after
party
for
VIP
ticket
holders.
Six
Indian
fighters
in
various
weight
categories
will
take
on
six
MMA
fighters
at
the
first
fight
event
in
Mumbai.
The
main
event
on
the
occasion
will
be
a
super
heavy
duel
between
UK's
James
Thompson
and
Bob
Sapp
of
US.
Talking
about
the
event,
Sanjay
Dutt
confirmed
that
the
fights
in
the
league
would
be
real
and
not
staged.
However,
the
MMA
industry
is
valued
at
$2
billion
in
America
alone.
Raj
Kundra
described
that
it
is
the
fastest
growing
sport.
"The
revenue
would
be
through
advertising
and
sponsorship-based
funding.
We
have
link-ups
with
various
websites
and
also
TV
deals.
We
would
make
an
announcement
shortly," PTI
quotes
him
as
saying.
