Hema Malini On Dharmendra's Kiss: At a book launch event in New Delhi for her brother RK Chakravarty's autobiography, 'Galloping Decades,' Hema Malini spoke candidly about Dharmendra's role in Karan Johar's romantic-comedy drama.

In the film, Dharmendra's character gets reunited with his long lost lover Shabana Azmi by their grandchildren, portrayed by Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The film shows Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi sharing an intimate kiss, which became the highlight of the Karan Johar directorial.

HEMA MALINI REACTS TO DHARMENDRA'S ONSCREEN KISS WITH SHABANA AZMI

Now, Dharmendra's wife Hema Malini has reacted to the much-talked-about kiss scene during the book launch event. She told Zoom, "I am sure people have loved the film. I am so happy for Dharam ji, because he loves to be in front of the camera all the time. He loves it."

She also added, "Ghar mein bhi baithke, woh apni purani videos dekhenge aur poochenge 'Mai kaisa lag raha hoon? (He keeps checking his old videos' at home and asks about them)."

WHAT DHARMENDRA SAID ABOUT THE KISS

Dharmendra himself addressed the kiss scene during the film's success meet in and said, "Yaar, yeh toh mere daaye haath ka kaam hai (It's no big deal for me)." "Baaye haath se karwana hai, woh bhi karwa lo (I can do it effortlessly)," he added.

Karan Johar, the director of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, had previously praised both Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi for their professionalism and chemistry on screen. In an interview with Film Companion, he shared, "There was no debate, no question (about the kiss scene). Dharam ji was like, 'haan theek hai karna hai, fine'. It was glorious to see them."

SHABANA AZMI'S REACTION TO KISS

Shabana Azmi, who shared the on-screen kiss with Dharmendra, also talked about her comfort and the audience's reaction to the scene. In an interview with Zoom, she said, "It is true that I haven't kissed much on screen before. But who wouldn't want to kiss a man as handsome as Dharmendra?"

Meanwhile, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani hit the theatres on July 28 and has minted over 70 crores within a week of its release. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead and also stars veteran actors, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles.
