Koffee
With
Karan
8:
The
sixth
episode
of
Koffee
With
Karan
8,
featuring
Kajol
and
Rani
Mukerji,
has
been
deemed
the
most
hilarious
and
entertaining
episode
of
the
season
by
fans.
Karan
Johar
welcomed
his
leading
ladies
from
his
first
film,
Kuch
Kuch
Hota
Hai,
and
the
trio
engaged
in
heartfelt
conversations
with
surprising
revelations.
At
one
point
in
the
latest
episode,
Rani
and
Kajol
revealed
that
they
were
not
close
during
the
initial
days
of
their
careers,
and
Karan
revealed
that
Kajol
maintained
"a
silent
distance" from
Rani
Mukerji
during
the
filming
of
Kuch
Kuch
Hota
Hai.
For
the
uninitiated,
Rani
and
Kajol
are
cousins.
Karan
Johar
on
Rani
&
Kajol
maintaining
distance
"At
that
time,
you
didn't
have
a
close
friendship
or
a
relationship
at
all,
right?
host
Karan
Johar
asked
both
his
guests.
"Though
you
were
family,
there
was
no
rishta
(relationship).
You
(Kajol)
had
also
kept
a
silent
distance
from
her.
I
used
to
wonder,
'What
kind
of
family
is
this?'" he
said.
Responding
to
Karan's
query,
Kajol
said,
"Nothing
really
like
that.
It
was
just
an
organic
distance.
Where
work
is
concerned
it's
more
that
both
of
us
liked
where
we
were."
Rani
added,
"Because
I
have
known
her
as
a
kid
and
she
was
Kajol
didi
for
me
and
it
was
a
bit
strange.
I
guess
when
you
grow
apart
you
really
don't
know
the
reason
why
because
you
don't
meet
that
often
because
Kajol
didi
used
to
stay
in
town
and
we
were
in
Juhu.
Me
and
Tanisha
were
much
closer
and
we
are
still.
But
Kajol
didi
was
always
closer
to
the
boys
of
the
family.
So,
it
was
a
bit
strange."
What
brought
them
close?
Kjao
then
went
on
to
reveal
how
they
eventually
built
a
friendship.
"More
after
our
dads
passed
away.
It's
just
an
organic
thing." To
this,
Rani
added,
"As
families
when
you
lose
your
loved
ones.
I
was
close
to
Kajol's
dad
(Shomu
Mukerjee).
When
you
go
through
tough
times
and
losses,
that's
when
everybody
comes
closer."
Kajol
and
Rani
Mukerji
now
share
a
close
bond
and
are
spotted
together
at
the
Durga
Puja
pandals
in
Mumbai.
The
two
actresses
worked
in
the
movie
Kuch
Kuch
Hota
Hai,
which
turned
25
this
year.
