Andre Braugher, the Emmy-winning actor who would master gritty drama for seven seasons on "Homicide: Life on The Street” and modern comedy for eight on “Brooklyn 99," died Monday at 61. Braugher died after a brief illness, his publicist, Jennifer Allen, told The Associated Press. No further details were given. The Chicago-born actor would establish himself in the role of Detective Frank Pembleton, the lead role on “Homicide: Life on the Street," a dark police drama based on a book by David Simon, who would go on to create “The Wire." His other film credits included “Primal Fear” and “Get on the Bus," and his other TV credits included "Hack," “Gideon's Crossing,” and “The Good Fight." He also acted frequently on the stage, often doing Shakespeare. He won an Obie Award for playing the title role in “Henry V” at the New York Shakespeare Festival, where he also appeared in “Measure for Measure," “Twelfth Night,” and “As You Like It." Braugher was married for more than 30 years to his “Homicide” co-star, Ami Brabson. He is also survived by his sons Michael, Isaiah, and John Wesley, his brother Charles Jennings, and his mother, Sally Braugher.

Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor have signed their second film with Dharmas. The duo will be headlining a rom-com for an OTT platform. According to Pinkilla, Ibrahim and Khushi’s untitled film, directed by Shauna Gautam, is scheduled to commence filming next year. The report also stated that the production house is actively seeking a partnership with a leading streaming platform. Quoting a source, the report said, “It’s one of those romantic comedies that Hindi Cinema is known for. However, Karan and co. feel that the palette of narrative fits better for the OTT than the big screen. It’s planned and will be executed as an OTT original.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer controversial movie Animal remains consistent in its third week as well. The film collected Rs 13 cr on Tuesday, as per a report by Sacnilk.com. With this, its total collection by far stands at Rs 458.12 crore in India. The film is Ranbir Kapoor's highest-grossing film now and is aiming to cross the 50 crore club in a few days. Animal is already past Rs 700 crore globally. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal is a 3-hour, hour-21-minute-long film and is available in 5 languages- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
