Sajid Nadiadwala Biography

Sajid Nadiadwala is an Indian film producer.

Personal Life And Education


Nadiadwala was born in Mumbai to Suleiman Nadiadwala. Many of his family and relatives including A.G. Nadiadwala and A.K. Nadiadwala were successful film producers in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Firoz A. Nadiadwala is his cousin who is also currently a successful film producer.

He secretly married Bollywood actress Divya Bharti on 20 May 1992. Their marriage was tragically short lived when Divya fell to her death from her apartment building on 5 April 1993. The circumstances surrounding her death were suspicious but nothing was proved. Her death remains a mystery to this day. It is alleged that her death was not a suicide but a homicide.

According to news reports, Sajid had fainted when he found out about her death the very next day. He fainted again soon after he lit her funeral pyre. He has since dedicated some of his films to Divya's memory. He later married Wardha Khan, a former journalist. They have two sons.

Career

Nadiadwala started as an AC technician and then later worked as a spot boy and graduated to becoming a production assistant in his uncle's production house before establishing his own production company - Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The production company has churned out many hits including Jeet (1996), Judwaa (1997), Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004).

His 2006 released film Jaan-E-Mann was an all time blockbuster and was critically appreciated. His latest 2007 release Heyy Babyy was one of the year's biggest hits. He has frequently cast Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in his films; Salman is his best friend while Akhshay is good friends with his brother.
