John Travolta dropped from the cast of Dallas

London (ANI): Actor John Travolta has reportedly been dropped from the new Dallas movie, despite having been linked with the film for two years. The 52-year-old actor had been cast as oil tycoon villain J.R. Ewing in the film and now the role is reportedly going in favour of comedy actor Ben Stiller.

According to reports, the 'Pulp Fiction" star has been given a parting seven-figure goodbye 'gift' from film bosses. Travolta"s pal has confirmed his non-involvement in the project. “He"s not going to be in the movie. They"ve gone in a different direction than was originally intended. I don"t know about any gift," The Daily Express quoted the pal, as saying.

A spokesman for Travolta refused to comment on the matter. Travolta is not the only star to have been allegedly dropped from the project, even Shirley MACLaine, who was to play Miss Ellie, Luke Wilson (Bobby Ewing) and Jennifer Lopez (Sue Ellen) were dropped from the original cast.
