Scarlett and Sean officially break up

Actress Scarlett Johansson and actor Sean Penn have broken up. According to reports, the two stars had recently started seeing each other after Scarlett and her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds ended their marriage. A break up between Sean (50) and Scarlett (26) was on the cards as the Scoop star did not attend the Cannes film festival held in France to support Sean's film Tree of Life.

According to sources, Scarlett had quickly moved to the Milk actor's $3.8 million Malibu house after the couple had started dating in April. The two made their first public appearance as a couple at Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth's wedding in March. After that they were seen making many public appearances together including a Correspondent's supper party at the White House early this April.

However, the exact reason for their split is still unknown as none of the ex-couple's representatives were willing to make a comment.
