It is a film revolving around a love story but Aa Dhinagalu,directed by Chaithanya, has its story based on several incidents that took place in the seventies and eighties involving Bangalore underworld. The real life incidents has been portrayed well with sensitivity. The film closely resembles Agni Sridhar's Daadagiriya Dhinagalu - so said Chaithanya at the films press conference. Jnanapit Award winner Girish Karnad, noted Actor Atul Kulkarni who has won two Best Supporting actor National awards for his performances in "Hey Ram' and "Chandni Bar' and "Agni' editor Sridhar were present at the press conference.
Aa Dhinagalu has finished the major portions of its shooting. Agni Sridhar has not only provided the basis of the story of the film but has also written the dialogues. Syed Aman and M.S. Ravindra are the producers of this film. H.C. Venu wields the camera. Award winner Shashidhar Adapa is the art director. Lohithashwa plays one of the lead roles and Atul Kulkarni is playing another important role in the film. "Lohithashwa plays the role of Katte Ramachandra in the film and he is perhaps a big revelation' said Sridhar who has watched him while shooting the film. Chethan as USA, Vishwa Deepak, Ashish Vidyarthi, Archana Shastri and Dharma have played supporting characters of the film. Atul Kulkarni was happy that he worked for the film. He was highly impressed with the directorial abilities of Chaithanya, the first time director. "I have worked with many debut directors in many films but Chaithanya is the best among them', he said.
