Genelia in Bommarillu Remake

Glamorous Genelia started her career by working in Shankar directed Boys and later acted in a Hindi film. But then the sizzling beauty moves down south to act in Tamil, Telugu and even Kannada films. Her Kannada film Sathya In Love will be completing fifty days run shortly. And her recent Tamil film Santhosh Subramaniam is also doing very well.

Santhos Subramaniam hero Jeyam Ravi has got his first hit after a long gap in the film Santhosh Subramaniam. Ravi's luck seems to be changing now after his recent film Santhosh Subramaniam in which he was paired with Genelia is turning out to be a huge hit. Ravi who had a series of failures in the last two years is now back in circulation from his recent film thanks to Genelia whose rocking performance is said to be the major reason for the big success of the film.

Santhos Subramaniam is the remake of Genelia's Telugu film Bommarillu directed by Bhaskar which became a block buster hit two years ago.

The Tamil film was directed by Ravi's elder brother Raja who has specialised in directing remake films. Genelia's luck turned with Bommarillu and later she came on top in Telugu and Tamil films. She also signed her first Kannada film Sathya In Love to be paired with Shivaraj Kumar after Bommarillu became a block buster hit even in Karnataka.

Now, the news is that Genelia has also signed the Hindi version of Bommarillu which will be produced by Boney Kapoor. The film will be directed by Anees Bazmi and Harman Baweja will be the hero of this film. Harman has already signed a Hindi film Love 2050 which is yet to be released.

Genelia will be the leading lady in the Hindi remake version of Bommarillu. "I played the role of Hasini in Bommarillu which provided a sea change in my career in films. I understood the importance of a performance only after I had acted in the role of Hasini. But I am glad that I was the first choice for the Tamil version of this film and I am being sought for the Hindi version. I could not have asked for better' said Geleia whose USP is certainly her broad smile.

Genelia had infact acted in Bollywood earlier in the film Tujhe Meri Kasam with Ritesh Deshmukh. But her first Hindi film which was a remake of Telugu Hit Nuvve Kaavaali did not create ripples in the Box office. Then Genelia concentrated in South and after many successful and not so significant films, she was able to get the best role of her career in Bommarlllu.
