Leading
actress
Meera
Jasmine's
career
has
gone
totally
downhill
in
her
home
state,
Kerala,
as
she
is
now
completely
out
of
Malayalam
films
due
to
an
unofficial
ban
on
her
by
AMMA
(The
Association
of
Malayalam
Movie
artistes),
reports
said.
The
unfavourable
doom
of
her
Malayalam
film
career
began
when
she
refused
to
allot
dates
to
AMMA's
fund-raising
project
Twenty:20,
in
which
top
67
Malayalam
artists
are
extending
their
support
to
raise
sufficient
funds
to
help
poor
artistes'
welfare.
When
Dileep,
producer
of
Twenty:20
approached
Meera
for
dates,
she
immediately
refused
the
offer,
saying
that
she
was
busy
in
three
other
films
already.
What
irked
AMMA
most
was
that
after
saying
she
has
no
dates,
Meera
had
given
bulk
dates
for
Kamal's
Minnaminnikoottam!
All
leading
Mollywood
artistes
insisted
that
AMMA
take
severe
action
against
the
actress
because
of
her
'attitude
problem'
and
non-cooperation
with
the
association.
Consequently,
AMMA
sent
a
show-cause
notice
and
later
declared
an
indefinite
ban,
preventing
Meera
from
acting
in
any
Malayalam
films.
In
the
midst
of
this
fracas,
Meera
Jasmine
was
cool
enough
to
comment
that
she
didn't
care
about
the
show-cause
notice
or
the
ban.
Now,
the
pretty
National
Award
winning
actress
is
trying
to
balance
her
career
in
Tamil,
Telugu
and
Kannada,
where
she
has
a
mix
of
both
commercial
and
art
films.
M.S.
Sathyu,
the
noted
offbeat
director
of
Kannada
cinema,
has
now
taken
her
for
his
new
film
titled
Ijjodu,
produced
by
Reliance
Adlabs.
The
film
has
started
rolling
near
Hassan
district
with
Meera
Jasmine
playing
the
role
of
a
devadasi.
The
film
is
shot
in
sync
sound
and
Meera
will
now
have
to
speak
in
her
own
voice.
"It
is
a
tough
job
as
I
have
to
mug
up
all
the
lengthy
dialogues
and
need
to
have
the
correct
diction
and
pronunciation," she
says.
In
Telugu,
after
the
super
hit
Yamagola,
Srikanth
and
Meera
Jasmine
are
getting
back
together
in
a
new
film
titled
A
Aa
Ee
Ee.
Meera
Jasmine's
last
Tamil
release
was
Nepali
opposite
Bharath,
which
was
a
super
hit
and
critically
acclaimed
as
well.
