AR Rahman's Varalaaru tunes for Upendra's Godfather!

Oscar Award winner AR Rahman is unlikely to make his debut in Kannada film industry with forthcoming Kannada movie Godfather starring Upendra. It was earlier said that the musician would be entering Sandalwood with the remake of Tamil hit movie Varaalaru.

It is believed that AR Rahman's tunes from the original will be retained in Godfather. However, sources have denied it and said that the music director will be making his debut by composing a few fresh tracks for the Kannada film but the major part of the album will have the tunes from the Tamil version, which had eight tracks.

Earlier, director Sriram had announced that AR Rahman had given a green signal to make his debut in Kannada by composing tunes for Godfather, which also features actress Jayamala's daughter Soundarya, Catherine Tresa, and Bhumika Chawla.
