has
been
finally
sold
after
18
years.
The
makers
of
the
movie,
who
had
kept
the
rights
with
them
for
all
these
years,
sold
the
same
for
a
popular
TV
channel.
Sources
say
that
the
TV
channel
had
a
lengthy
talk
with
the
Vajreshwari
Combines
over
the
Om
rights.
After
a
few
rounds
of
negotiations,
they
quoted
a
fancy
amount
for
the
satellite
rights
of
the
career-changing
flick
of
both
Uppi
and
the
Hat-trick
Hero.
If
the
reports
are
to
be
believed,
the
channel
has
paid
Rs
2.5
crore
for
the
18-year-old
flick,
which
is
a
record
amount
paid
for
a
classic
film
in
Sandalwood.
Upendra
directorial
Om,
which
also
starred
Prema,
was
a
landmark
film
in
Kannada
film
industry.
Despite
being
controversial
film
for
the
content
over
violence
and
for
making
the
infamous
rowdies
like
Jedarahalli
Krishnappa,
Bekkina
Kannu
(Cat
Eye)
Raajendra,
Korangu
and
Tanveer
in
the
film,
the
film
not
only
set
a
benchmark
at
the
Box
Office
but
also
won
critical
appreciation.
It
has
to
be
underlined
that
Om
managed
to
re-release
every
year
even
18
years
after
its
release
in
1995.
