Crazy Gopalan steals the show at theatres

Malayalam actor Dileep's Christmas release Crazy Gopalan, a hilarious comedy thriller directed by debutante Deepu Karunakaran, fetched an impressive collection of more than 1.2 crores from 70 theatres in its first four days, more than other recent Dileep starrers.

Though the film could not earn rave reviews, the makers strongly believe that with some more holidays left in this Christmas-New Year season, the movie will be a great success like Ee Parakkum Thalika, CID Moosa and Meesa Madhavan. Reports said that the 'Gopala' song, continuously aired in TV channels, has already become a huge hit among children, the greatest fans of the star.


Crazy Gopalan is about the mysterious Kattila Gopalan (Dileep), a thief in Oonjaladi village, whose peculiarity is to steal only the Kattila (door jambs) of houses under construction. His thefts have been puzzling the villagers for a long time. Harishchandran (Harisree Asokan) is the ill-fated carpenter who ends up getting blamed for everything Gopalan does. When the villagers make plans to capture Gopalan, he is forced to shift his activity to the city; Harishchandran too turns up in the same city for work...
