Vasudevan Nair, a renowned Malayalam author, screenplay writer and director, who has written some of the finest scripts in Malayalam for movies including Nakhakshthangal (1986), Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha (1989), Sargam (1992), Sadayam (1992), Parinayam (1994) and Ennu Swantham Janakikutty (1998).

Vasudevan Nair to write a script for him and it was M.T. who suggested Lal Jose to direct this film. M.T. is said to be impressed by Lal Jose's recent super hits Chaandu Pottu, Classmates and Arabikatha, which all reveal the special and unique approach of the director as a fluent story teller. Lal Jose is very much happy to accept this offer.
The name of the film is yet to be finalized. Accoding to initial reports, this movie, with many new faces, will be a village-based story like Nakhakshathangal (1986). The film will have two heroes. Planned to be a low budget film, it will be shot at the locations of Kuttipuram and Ottappalam.
