Mammootty-starrer Mayabazar, to be directed by debutante Thomas Sebastian, who was a long time associate of Sibi Malayil, Sunderdass and Blessy, will start shooting by the first week of July. The movie, which was earlier expected as a Christmas release, is now planned to be released during this Ramzan.
Meanwhile, Pattanathil Bhootham, another comic entertainer by Mammootty which was originally poised to start by July, has now beenpostponed for two months. The makers are said to have made some crucial changes in the script, especially the climax sequences.
Thomas Sebastian pens the script for Mayabazar along with Govind Vijayan, a known writer in Malayalam. Produced by Sachi S. Mangalam under the banner of Aakhil Films, Mayabazar will feature the highest-paid villain, Prakash Raj. It is the fifth Malayalam film by Prakash Raj, whose earlier films were Indraprastham (1996), The Prince (1996), Oru Yathramozhi (1999) and Pandipada (2006).
The film will have two heroines, one of them beng Meera Vasudevan. The cast will also include Nedumudi Venu, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Innocent, Salim Kumar, etc. Mammootty plays a very down-to-earth kind of role, that of a labourer named Sivankutty.
