Malayalam director Salim Ahamed, whose movie Adaminte Makan Abu has bagged National Awards, was felicitated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at a function in Thiruvananthapuram. The felicitation function was organised by Film Makers Forum. Tamil director Vetrimaran was also honoured at the moment.
CM Oommen Chandy honoured Salim Ahamed with a shawl (ponnada) at the felicitation function. Another National award-winner director Vetrimaran was also felicitated by the Kerala CM. The Minister for Forest and Film, KB Ganesh Kumar and director Lenin Rajendran were also present on the occasion.
Salim Ahamed's latest movie Adaminte Makan Abu, which depicts a poor perfume (attar) seller's story, has bagged four National and four State Film Awards. The movie has also done well at the Box Office. The success of the Malayalam movie has created lot demand for its remake rights.
