Niveda Thomas will play Kamal Hassan's onscreen daughter in the Tamil remake of blockbuster movie Drishyam. The actress will reprise the role done by Ansiba Hassan in the original. Director Jeethu Joseph himself revealed the news in a recent interview.
Niveda Thomas made her debut as a child artist with the movie Uthara, in 2003. She has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for her performance in the movie Veruthe Oru Bharya.
Niveda debuted in a lead role with the acclaimed movie Chappa Kurishu, opposite Vineeth Sreenivasan. Later on, she appeared in some popular movies such as Pranayam, Thattathin Marayathu and Romans in Malayalam. She has also acted in some Tamil movies including the blockbuster movie Jilla along with Mohanlal and Vijay. The actress is currently filming for the Malayalam movie Money Ratnam, in which she plays the female lead opposite Fahad Fazil.
Tamil remake of Drishyam is titled as Paapanasham. Kamal Hassan and Gauthami will play the lead roles played by Mohanlal and Meena in the original. Asha Sarath and Esther Anil will reprise their roles from the original in the Tamil remake as well. Kalabhavan Mani will play the antagoinst role, which was played by Kalabhavan Shajone in the original.
