As
much
as
they
are
envied,
celebrites,
especially
women,
are
more
susecptible
to
deadly
diseases
and
health-related
issues.
Mamta
Mohandas
is
a
proud
survivor,
and
the
Malayalam
beauty
is
an
inspiration
to
many.
The
37-year-old
actress
survived
Cancer
with
grit
and
determination
unlike
many
others.
But
being
a
single
child
helped
Mamata
never
give
up
the
fight
against
it,
that
attacked
her
twice.
In
an
interview
on
a
YouTube
channel,
Mamta
revealed
how
she
fought
the
deadly
disease
that
came
as
a
big
blow
to
her
in
her
mid-20s.
She
was
diagnosed
with
cancer
at
the
young
age
of
23
when
her
career
just
began.
Stating
that
"overcoming
cancer
is
tough" is
an
understatement,
Mamata
said
she
fought
it
with
inner
strength.
Mamtha
is
now
back
in
business
not
only
in
Malayalam
but
in
Tamil
and
Telugu
as
well.
She
has
been
giving
out
interviews
after
a
long
time.
She
shared
her
experiences
with
Jr
NTR
and
SS
Rajamouli
when
she
worked
for
'Yamadonga'
movie,
which
was
a
great
success
in
Telugu.
Mamta
shared,
"When
god
gives
you
certain
challenges.
They
also
select
the
people
that
they
give
challenges.
Because,
I
believe
that
challenges
are
given
to
people
who
can
handle
them.
At
the
time
I
was
very
young,
and
do
not
know
how
to
be
strong,
but
I
also
had
no
choice.
I
have
no
siblings,
but
I
have
a
lot
of
good
friends
and
their
support.
"
Elaborating
on
what
made
her
be
strong
during
the
entire
treatment,
Mamta
said,
"Inner
strength
is
necessary.
When
you
have
no
choice,
you'll
gather
inner
strength
because
it
is
too
tough
you
can't
leave
your
parents
and
go.
I
used
to
joke
that
if
I
had
a
sister
or
brother
I
could
have
gone
or
relaxed
a
bit,
but
they
did
not
give
me
that.
I
have
to
be
there
for
myself
and
them."
"One
of
the
things
I
missed
at
that
time
was
even
before
exploring
a
career,
Cancer
came
as
a
hurdle.
I
started
to
act
and
take
up
films
and
I
also
had
to
undergo
the
treatment.
Even
then,
I
was
filming
for
a
few
Malayalam
movies.
After
overcoming
cancer
the
first
time,
it
relapsed
after
1.5
years,
and
I
had
to
undergo
lung
transplantation," shared
Mamta,
who
is
back
with
a
bang.
She
is
also
diagnosed
with
Vitiligo
a
few
days
ago.
