Story
Vela Illa Pattathari is a Tamil movie direction by Velraj R and produced by Dhanush under his own production house Wunderbar Films. The movie stars with Dhanush and Amala Paul. Music by Anirudh Ravichandran.

Story

The film is reportedly a "Message to youth's with some comedy on rising unemployment and the growing frustration for jobs with Love", while Dhanush (Raghuvaran) plays the central character, civil engineering graduate who is still on the lookout for a job while his younger brother is already working and earning well. 

Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan play Dhanush’s parents. He wants to work only in the field he studied for - Civil Engineering. Finally get he gets job in his feild, there he faces trouble from the villain. Amala Paul, neighborhood girlfriend who falls with Dhanush.

Average and Dhanush had worked together on several projects, including Aadukalam (2011) and 3 (2012) as cinematographer and lead actor respectively, and during the production of those films, Dhanush requested Velraj to make his debut as a director and promised to play the lead role, if the cinematographer had narrated a good script.

Dhanush subsequently agreed to produce the film and then revealed the title of the film Velaiyilla Pattathari on Indian Independence Day, noting that filming was to start on August 20, 2013.

An initial production poster was released to the media on Christmas Day 2013 and on December 31, 2013, the team released a teaser trailer from the film featuring Dhanush, Amala Paul and Saranya. 

The trailer is released on 18th of June 2014 and the movie is scheduled to release on July 18th, 2014.

Soundtrack

The title song in the rock genre was used in the first teaser of the film, sung by Anirudh and with lyrics by Dhanush and Salik. The team had also recorded a track described as a "lilting melody" between Dhanush and veteran singer S. Janaki in October 2013.
