Vijay deliberately takes time for Velayudham

By Raymond Ronamai

Over the past couple of years, actor Vijay has been acting in more quickies and got at least two releases a year. Be it Villu, Vettaikaran or Sura, he completed them within a short span of time and unfortunately didn"t do well at the box office. Ensuring that the same scenario doesn"t persist, the actor has now decided to shoot his next film Velayudham on a long schedule of 180 days. It has Hansika Motwani and Genelia D"Souza in the lead roles.

The film is reported to be a remake of Telugu movie Azad that featured Nagarjuna, late actress Soundarya and Shilpa Shetty in the lead roles.

Velayudham started rolling a month ago and is now put on hold, as Vijay has resumed shooting for his other film Kaval Kadhal. Close sources said that Vijay would take six months to complete this film. It"s worth mentioning that Vijay had previously taken 7 months for his Ghilli, and after so many years has opted for the same pattern.

Velayudham is produced by Aascar Ravichandran and directed by Jeyam Raja. Vijay Anthony is scoring music and Priyan is handling cinematography.
