7aam Arivu-Vallaku En 18/9 in Oscar race

The Film Federation of India has short-listed 12 Indian movies to pick one film to represent India at the prestigious Oscar Awards. Tamil movies 7aam Arivu and Vallaku En 18/9 have found place in the list.

Apart from 7aam Arivu and Vallaku En 18/9, Telugu movie Eega starring Sudeep, Malayalam film Akashaninthe Niram, Marathi film Deol, Bollywood movies Heroine, Barfi, Kahaani, Gangs of Wasseypur, Paan Singh Tomar, Ferrari Ki Sawari and The Dirty Picture are also in the race.

The above-mentioned movies will be screened in Hyderabad from 18 to 26. A jury comprising 16 members will watch the movies and select one movie to represent the Indian film at the Oscar Awards.

7aam Arivu starred Surya and Shruti Hassan in the lead roles. The movie directed by AR Murugadoss is a scientific-fiction. Vallaku En 18/9 is a teen-crime thriller, which featured Sri, Mithun Murali, Urmila Mahanta and others. It was directed by Balaji Sakthivel.
