Tamil superstar Surya Sivakumar is celebrating his 39th birthday today (July 23). It has become a special birthday for the star, as he is basking with the success of Singam 2, the much-anticipated movie of the actor, which was released earlier this month.
Born as Saravanan Sivakumar, he became famous with his stage name Surya. The Tamil actor has acted in 34 films since 1997. He made his debut in Nerukku Neer in 1997 with Illayathalapathy Vijay and became a full-time hero with Sandhippoma, which was released in the year 1998.
He got a major break through Nandha, which was released in the year 2001 directed by Bala. Surya played the role of an ex-convict, who is very attached to his mother. The Ghajini star was honoured with the Best Actor Award by the state government for his performance in the movie.
Surya was born on 23rd July 1975 in Coimbatore. He is the eldest son of Tamil versatile actor Sivakumar and married to Tamil actress Jyothika in 2006. The couple is blessed with two children.
Apart from his profession, Surya makes time for charitable activities. He along with his brother Karthi, who is also an actor, has founded Agaram foundation, a non-profit organisation, which funds for various social welfare activities.
