Yes, 6 upcoming movies that have created decent reputation and
hype are slated to release around Christmas. Though Vikram Prabhu's
Vellaikaara Durai hasn't managed to stir up
excitement among fans, Meaghamann, Kayal,
Enakkul Oruvan and Pisasu have certainly accomplished
to capture the eyes of movie mongers.
Meaghamann which roughly translates to 'Captain of the
Ship' has Arya and
Hansika in lead
roles and is directed by Magizh Thirumeni who has worked as an
assistant director under Selvaraghavan and Gautham Menon.
Kayal is directed by Prabhu Solomon of
Kumki fame, while Isai is directed by
SJ Surya and has also composed the music.
Enakkul Oruvan and Pisasu too have some
expectations from fans as Enakkul Oruvan has
Siddharth in the lead and is said to be the remake of a hit
psychological thriller Kannada film Lucia and Pisasu is
directed by Mysskin and produced by director Bala. It is
said to be a complete horror film, a genre Mysskin has never tried
After the December craze, things are about to get hotter as
Shankar's I, Ajith's Yennai Arindhaal
and Vishal's Aambala are all slated to release in January.
While the makers of I are planning to release the
magnum opus on 9th of Jan, Yennai Arindhaal is said
to be postponed to 22nd due to lack of theatres.
Other interesting news that's making headlines is that Simbu's
Vaalu might be released on February 3rd for his birthday
while Dhanush's Anegan might be scheduled to release on
Valentines day. Watch out for the release of Kamal Haasan's films
as he too has 3 films stacked up and is desperately searching for
release dates to get his films on screen.
