Actor
Mahat
Raghavendra
of
Mankatha
and
Jilla
fame
will
play
the
lead
in
a
yet-untitled
Tamil
project,
which
will
be
directed
by
actor
Manoj
Bharathiraja
and
produced
by
his
father
and
veteran
film-maker
Bharathiraja.
"This
is
going
to
be
a
very
interesting
project.
It's
such
an
honour
to
be
working
with
Bharathiraja
sir,
who
will
be
producing
this
film
while
son
Manoj
will
direct
it," Mahat
told
IANS.
He
also
added
that
the
regular
shooting
of
the
project
will
start
from
March.
Without
divulging
much
information,
Mahat
said
the
film
will
remain
very
special
in
his
career.
Mahat,
meanwhile,
is
currently
busy
shooting
for
his
Telugu
film
She.
Interestingly,
Manoj
had
earlier
announced
that
he
would
make
his
directorial
debut
through
Sigappu
Rojakkal
2,
a
film
inspired
by
his
father's
1978
film
Sigappu
Rojakkal
featuring
Kamal
Haasan
and
Sridevi
in
the
lead.
Though
this
project
began
way
back
in
2009,
it
failed
to
materialize
until
last
year
when
the
Taj
Mahal
actor
announced
that
he
would
kick-start
the
film
by
roping
in
a
newcomer
named
Vishakan.
With
no
updates
pertaining
to
Sigappu
Rojakkal
2,
speculations
are
rife
that
Manoj
might've
shelved
the
project.
Another
hearsay
has
it
that
Mahat
might've
replaced
Vishakan
and
that
Manoj
might
revive
his
long-awaited
flick
with
Mahat
in
the
lead.
