Chief Minister MK Stalin Greets Ilaiyaraaja: Many political party leaders are wishing the legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja on his 80th birthday. In such a situation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin personally visited and congratulated Ilaiyaraaja. Ministers Ponmudi, KN Nehru also went along with him and wished Isaignani.

Ilaiyaraaja Changed His Birthday

Ilaiyaraaja, whose birth name is Gnanadesikan, is a multi-faceted musician, singer and lyricist. The great musician Ilayaraja was born on 3rd June. The birthday of DMK chief Kalaignar Karunanidhi is celebrated on the same day. Karunanidhi gave Ilaiyaraaja the title of Isaignani. Ilaiyaraaja is celebrating his birthday on June 2 because of the respect and honor he had towards Kalaignar.

"Kalaignar has done many services to Tamil. I didn't do anything like that. So the people of Tamil Nadu should congratulate only Kalaignar on 3rd June. That is why I took this decision." says Ilaiyaraaja.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, son of former Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi, personally visited Ilaiyaraaja at his office in Kodambakkam and wished him a happy birthday. Chief Minister Stalin congratulated Ilayaraja wearing a yellow bonnet and giving him the book of Perarignar Anna.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin celebrated his 70th birthday on March 1. Music composer Ilaiyaraaja wished him a happy birthday by releasing a video. MK Stalin also posted a birthday Tweet for Ilaiyaraaja on his Twitter page, saying, "May the morning bloom sweetly - May the journeys be smooth - May the joys turn into celebrations - May the sorrows disappear into dust - May the night be sweetly colored Tamil Nadu's choice 'Isaignani' Ilayaraja!
