Vaathi follows the story of Balamurugan/Bala Gangadhar Tilak, a third-grade junior lecturer at a college in Tirupati. In the institute, Bala stands against the unethical and improper practices that depict education as business, depriving the students.

The music was received positively by the fans and music lovers with the title track 'Vaa Vaathi' topping the FM Radio charts.
