It is known to all that Vishal Singh is replacing Karan Mehra, as Naitik on Star Plus' popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. In an interview to an entertainment website, the producer of the show, Rajan Shahi, has appealed the audiences to accept Vishal Singh as Naitik, and not to criticise the actor on a personal level.

On casting Vishal Singh as Naitik, Rajan Shahi was quoted by the entertainment website as saying, "The plus point in Vishal Singh is that he has somewhere down the line kept his exclusiveness on TV intact. Even though he has done a lot in his career, he has not done so much to over-expose himself."

He further added, "With what I have observed in him is that in his whole career, he has always maintained a level of dignity and has maintained an aura around himself which still remains private. For me today as Producer and for the entire unit, it is very critical for the sake of Yeh Rishta... to work with actors who are committed to the show."

Talking about similarities between Karan and Vishal, the producer said, "I have worked with Vishal before. I know certain instincts, behaviour and the class in which he conducts himself. In that way, he is pretty similar to Karan Mehra."

Rajan Shahi even added that his association with Karan will never end. He added that Karan is close to his heart and they have even planned something together in future.

Vishal Singh, who has started shooting for the show, says that he is already feeling comfortable on the sets. Regarding Karan, Vishal was quoted by the website as saying, "He has played the character exceptionally well. It is now my responsibility to take it forward."
