Telugu actor Pawan Kalyan was slated to meet and thank fans in Hyderabad on Sunday for making his latest release Attarintiki Daredi (AD) a blockbuster, but due to undisclosed reasons the event stands cancelled. Although several speculations are being made on this sudden decision in the film nagar, producer BVSN Prasad says that it has nothing to do with the cabinet's approval to a separate Telangana state.
Producer BVSN Prasad told IANS, "We had planned to have a grand 'Thanks Meet' Sunday, but due to some reasons we had to call it off. Some things didn't fall in place and hence we cancelled it. It has nothing to do with the announcement of Telangana." He added, "We are working on a new date and we intend to announce soon. The entire cast and crew of the film will be present for the event."
Attarintiki Daredi, which released Sep 27, has reportedly netted over Rs. 50 crore at the box office worldwide. It is directed by Trivikram Srinivas Pawan Kalyan, who usually never attends public gatherings, personally initiated the 'Thank You' event after being overwhelmed with the response to his film. The movie also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Nadhiya and Boman Irani in important roles.
