Agent Day 1 Box Office Collection: Akhil Akkineni & Mammootty Starrer Manages To Collect THIS Whopping Amount!

Agent

Here's a breakdown of the day-wise box office collection of Akhil Akkineni's Agent:

Day 1: Rs 7.8 Crores
Day 2: Rs 6 Crores (Early estimates)

Ramakrishna alias Ricky (Akhil Akkineni) dreams of working as an agent in the Research Analysis Wing (RAW) that safeguards the country's security. Ricky considers Chief Mahadev (Mammootty) as his mentor. Due to his aggressive nature and restlessness, he gets rejected many times for a job in the company. Mahadev tries to thwart the evil attempts of Dharma alias God (Dino Morea) who wants to destroy the country. In such a situation Mahadev hires Ricky as an ethical hacker.

Why Ricky Becomes Ethical Hacker? Why did Ricky want to join Raw? Why does he consider Mahadev as Guru? Why did Dharma take the incarnation of God? Why does he leave his beloved (Sakshi Vaidya) whom he loves dearly? Why did Ricky kill Mahadev whom he considered his guru? The story of the film Agent is the answer to the questions of how Ricky finally thwarted God's evil efforts.

Agent starts with an emotional point where Mahadev is shot dead by Ricky. After that, Akhil's entry will be opened in the mass range with some action sequences. But the Ricky Family episode feels very regular and routine. And the love track with Sakshi Vaidya is also too normal. The episode where Union Minister Jai Kishan is given a warning in the first half works well on-screen. The interval bangs with a good action block and the second half gets interesting.

Dharma Alias God will open a flash back to answer the question of why he rebelled against the RAW system. But that point doesn't seem very convincing. Nor does Ricky's point as to why he decided to become an agent seem strong. Climax also fails to impress the audience. Though the action sequences, Mammootty's performance, Akhil's powerful fights, different body language were good, it does not feel like a spy thriller that takes the audience to a new world.

Action portions crafted by director Surender Reddy are good. But he fails to give a strong story and a good love track. It would have been a better spy thriller if the director had paid some attention to the story.

Agent movie is like a promotion for Akhil. Akhil's hard work towards his role is visible in every scene. It must be said that he has scored well as a mass action hero. The heroine Sakshi Vaidya has no scope for performance.

When it comes to the rest of the characters in Agent, Mammootty's character dominates. Dino Morea performed well in the scope of his role. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar looked like a doll in an unimportant role.

Many scenes are elevated just because of the amazing sound effects and background music. The songs are very bad. Urvashi Rautela's special song sounds the same. Cinematography by Rasul Ellore is good. But the VFX work is not up to expectations.
