Samantha
Ruth
Prabhu's
latest
epic
periodic
fantasy
drama
'Shaakuntalam,'
written
and
directed
by
Gunasekhar
is
hitting
the
screens
all
over
the
world
on
April
14.
The
movie,
which
is
a
pan-Indian
film
made
on
a
whopping
budget
is
releasing
in
five
languages.
The
makers
of
the
movie
organized
premieres
in
Hyderabad
as
part
of
promotions
to
generate
buzz
ahead
of
the
release.
However,
Shaakuntalam
gained
mixed
reviews
from
fans
and
critics.
The
rejection
of
Samantha's
Shaakuntalam
is
shocking
for
the
filmmakers
as
well
as
the
fans.
Samantha,
who
had
pinned
all
her
hopes
on
Shaakuntalam
was
positive
and
confident
about
the
film's
success.
She
embarked
on
a
restless
promotional
activity
for
the
movie,
which
she
shouldered,
despite
being
unwell.
However,
the
result
of
Shaakuntal
was
a
shocker
to
her.
Ever
since
the
preview
reports
have
come
out
four
days
before
the
movie's
theatrical
release,
Samantha
posted
a
message
on
her
social
media
handles
stating
that
the
promotions
and
heavy
schedules
took
a
toll
on
her
health
and
she
fell
sick.
She
refrained
from
promoting
Shaakuntalam
post
the
preview
feedback
came
out
negatively.
Meanwhile,
although
Allu
Arjun's
daughter
Allu
Arha's
acting
debut
and
her
performance
received
great
applause,
it
wasn't
adequate
for
the
entire
movie
which
was
made
on
a
budget
of
about
Rs
40
Crore
to
enthrall
the
viewers
and
fans.
