Agent
Movie
Introduction:
Akhil
Akkineni
picked
a
high-octane
action
thriller
for
his
next
after-tasting
success
with
a
matured
love
story
'Most
Eligible
Bachelor.'
The
movie
written
by
Vakkantham
Vamsi
and
directed
by
Surender
Reddy
was
in
production
for
a
very
long
time.
Malayalam
superstar
Mammootty
played
an
important
role
in
the
movie.
Bollywood
actor
Dino
Morea
was
roped
in
for
this
spy
action
film,
marking
his
Telugu
debut.
The
success
of
Agent
is
crucial
for
the
director,
writer,
and
actors
in
it.
Dino
Morea
openly
said
that
he
would
like
to
work
in
Telugu
and
this
movie
would
bring
him
more
opportunities.
Agent
Story:
Colonel
Mahadev
alias
Devil(Mammootty)
is
an
exceptional
RAW
agent
and
is
a
mentor
to
Rama
Krishna
alias
Rikki,
known
as
Agent
Wild(Akhil
Akkineni).
Mahadev
is
also
the
trainer
of
former
agent
God
(Dino
Morea),
who
turns
against
the
system
and
becomes
the
head
of
the
underworld.
He
controls
every
government
and
political
move
in
India.
Rikki
adores
Devil
and
dreams
of
becoming
a
RAW
agent
like
him.
An
ethical
hacker
at
first,
Rikki
meets
and
falls
in
love
with
Sakshi
Vaidya
(Vidya)
but
forgoes
his
feelings
to
become
an
agent.
He
then
joins
hands
with
a
Minister,
who
abuses
Vidya.
Meanwhile,
Mahadev,
who
believes
Rikki's
cranky
behaviour
will
camouflage
his
identity
as
an
agent
takes
him
under
his
wings
and
trains.
Knowing
this,
God
lets
Rikki
take
over
his
kingdom.
What
happens
next
is
to
be
seen
on
the
big
screen.
Performances:
Akhil
Akkineni
transformed
himself
into
an
agent
with
a
beefed-up
physique
and
body
language.
He
trained
hard,
spent
several
years,
and
worked
hard
for
Agent.
But,
an
uninteresting
story
coupled
with
subpar
direction
and
screenplay
played
the
spoilsport
here
for
Agent.
Akhil
manages
to
impress
the
viewers
with
his
honest
portrayal
of
the
character
and
brings
his
all
to
the
table.
Mammootty
is
terrific
in
the
role
of
Colonel
Mahadev.
The
rest
of
them
portrayed
their
roles
within
the
scope.
Agent
Analysis:
Unfortunately,
the
movie
doesn't
interest
the
viewers
at
all.
There
are
several
reasons
why
the
film
didn't
work
with
a
routine
story
with
predictability
and
an
uninteresting
screenplay.
Agent
Rikki's
character
has
some
novelty
but
that
doesn't
aid
in
salvaging
the
film.
The
production
values
are
pretty
good
and
top-class.
The
computer
graphics
and
fight
sequences
are
average.
There
is
an
interval
bang
after
the
hero
fighting
60
people
with
heavy
machinery,
coming
out
without
a
single
scratch.
These
things
remind
you
of
watching
a
regional
flick.
The
love
track
is
a
very
routine
one.

Verdict
A
predictable
action

that
can
be
skipped
for
a
theatrical
watch.
