Abrid Shine's directorial movie '1983' which considered one of the best sports dramas ever made in Malayalam cinema in recent times. Rameshan, a young man who is a bright student loses all interest in his studies the moment he becomes dependent on playing cricket. The movie also demonstrates how his son helped him realize his dream. The center of attention was Nivin Pauly, who portrayed the primary character in the film.The film won three Kerala State Film Awards, including the Best Debut Director Award Abride Shine , the Best Actor Award Nivin Pauly, and the Second Best Actor Award Anoop Menon.

Kaipola is a survival drama, directed by by K G Shyju, and starred James Eliya, Indrans and Kalabhavan Shajohn in the significant roles. Based on the theme of wheelchair cricket, 'Kaipola' is a pure emotional drama. There is no doubt that will make you cry when you watch it on the television.

The movie centers on a son called Sachin by his father in honor of the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. It centres around cricket and will also result in gang fights, gambling, falling in love, and many other things. It is a romantic comedy drama with no villainous characters. Directed by Santhosh Nair who had previously headed ‘Mani Ratnam’ with Fahad Fazil as the lead. This is the second movie by the director. The film's star-studded cast includes Dhyan Sreenivasan, Anna Rajan Aju Varghese, Hareesh Kanaran, Appani Sarath, Ramesh Pisharody and Renji Panicker.

It is a comedy-drama about an unambitious government employee named Baiju who spends his free time coaching the kids in his neighborhood and playing cricket on the village green. The 'Kumbalam Brothers', the village's local cricket team, had a profound impact on his life. While his peers advance in life, starting businesses in the US and earning large salaries as professionals in the UK, Baiju is content where he is and occasionally hits a sixer. The film was written and directed  by Ranjan Pramod. Biju Menon who played a lead role along with Hannah Reji in the movie.

Tournament is a fun-filled drama which explores themes like happiness, fun, love and friendship. It tells the story of a group of young cricketers who travel by vehicle to test out for a competition. However, they run into several problems when compelled to take dangerous paths. Fahadh Faasil who impressed the audience attention with his stellar performance in the movie. The movie, which was released in 201o, was written and directed by actor-turned-director Lal.

It narrates the lives of a young guy named Aaron, who was blinded in an accident while still in school and later managed to join the Indian cricket team for the blind. Jayasurya played a visually challenged youth with a positive attitude to life in the movie. 'Happy Journey' marked first collaboration of the actor Jayasurya and film maker Boban Samuel. Apart from Jayasurya, 'Happy Journey' features actors Lal, Lena, Balu Varghese and Aparna Gopinath.
