A R Rahman

A. R. Rahman still holds the record for being the only Indian to win two Oscars. His impact on the music industry is undeniable. Particularly his "Jai Ho" in the movie "Slumdog Millionaire," which was amazing. In 2009, he was honoured with prizes for both the best original song and the best original score.
Bhanu Athaiya
Being the first Indian to win an Oscar, Bhanu Athaiya made history. With the 1982 movie "Gandhi," she won the prize for best costume design. Her contribution to the movie brought attention to the Indian film industry for the first time.
Satyajit Ray
The honorary award was given to Satyajit Ray in 1992, a filmmaker who was at his peak during the era. The Academy presented Satyajit Ray with a special award at the 64th Oscars in 1992, only one month before he passed away. While lying in a hospital bed in Kolkata, Ray collected his honor.
Resul Pookutty
Before winning the Oscar for best sound mixing in 2009, Resul Pookutty wasn't a well-known figure in the Indian film industry. Nonetheless, his contributions to the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" elevated him to widespread stardom.
Gulzar
Gulzar received the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 81st Academy Awards for the song "Jai Ho" from the movie Slumdog Millionaire. A.R. Rahuman and Gulzar are both recognised for their remarkable musical compositions.
M. M. Keeravani
Chandrabose penned the lyrics to the song Naatu Naatu, and M. M. Keeravani composed the music. This song has been played all over the world, and the movie "RRR" has gained a global audience. Thus, Keeravani and Chandrabose won the Oscar in 2023 for best original song for their creations, which obtained an amazing reception.
Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga
"The Elephant Whisperers," a short film that was written and directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga, The old-age couple with the elephant was the subject of a short documentary film that focused on their everyday lives. Surprisingly, their film had a greater influence on the Oscar jury, and they ultimately took home the prize for "Best documentary short film of 2023."
