The director  who tries his best to make an emotional connection with audience through the characters in the movie.  'Kismath' tells the tragic love story of a Irfan , a young Muslim guy who falls love in with a Dalit hindu woman, who is three years elder than him. Irfan's father doesn't approve of his relationship with the woman and forced him to break the relation with her. But the story makes audience to feel cry after the unexpected death of hero. Based on the true story, the film was released in the theaters in 2016 and got positive responses from the audience as well as critics.

Ennu Ninte Moideen is one of the best classic tragic romantic movies ever made in Malayalam cinema. Like a complete emotional drama, it narrates a love story between Moideen and Kanchanamala. Helemed by R.S.Vimal, the film featured actors Prithviraj and  Parvathy Thiruvoath in the central roles. After  falling in love with each other, Moideen and Kanchana who faced the disagreement from the  family and relatives to their relationship. After long time wait, they finally decided to elope from their hometown, but story end with the tragic death of Moideen. Released in 2015, the film turned out to be a block buster hit at the box-office. According to reports, the film had collected Rs 19 crores after the 18 days of its big release.

Premam released in the big-screen in 2015 and emerged as one of the highest  grossing Malayalam movies of the year. Directed by Alphonse Putharan, the movie starred Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The romantic drama which follows the three phases of romance in the protagonists's life. The on-sceen chemistry between Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi was the major attraction of the movie. The film also explored the themes like lost love, unfiltered truth about relationships, first love and marriage.

Rajeev Ravi's Annayum Rasoolum is another  tragic love drama, which narrates a sublte love story of Anna and Rasool. The film is a perfect blend of  high emotional sequences with romance. Actress Samviritha Sunil also received critical appreaciation for her performance in the movie.
