Exclusive! Fighter Box Office Collection: Trade Analyst Komal Nahta Says, "It Won't Even Reach Rs. 200 Crore"

Fighter Box Office Collection: Siddharth Anand's Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone have failed to make a mark at the box office. The film has received positive reviews, and the word of mouth also has been good. But, when it comes to collection after a decent start the film has crashed at the box office on weekdays.
Filmibeat interacted with Trade Analyst Komal Nahta and spoke to him about the collections of Fighter. He told us, "Sadly, Fighter has not done well. The collection on the Republic Day was good, but when the film released on Thursday, the start was slow. The collections picked up a bit, but in total it was less. On Friday, Republic Day, there was a growth in collections, but it didn't go to the level that it should have gone looking at the canvas and budget of the film."
"Saturday the collections were average, and the film's distributors had thought that the Sunday collection will be like Friday, but that didn't happen, and on Monday the collections have gone very down. So, Fighter has come as bad news for the industry because it was made on a huge budget, and the business is not commensurate to it," he added.
Lifetime Collection Of Fighter
When asked him what can be the lifetime collection of the Hrithik-Deepika starrer, Komal Nahta told us, "It looks difficult to even reach a 200 crore. If we look at the budget, the collections should have been minimum Rs. 300 crore, and if it would have reached a Rs.350-400 crore that would have been a good thing. I hope I am not saying this too early, but the way collections are dropping, it looks like it won't even reach Rs. 200 crore."
Fighter in six days has collected around Rs. 130 crore which is quite disappointing. The industry and the audience had quite high expectations from the movie.
