Helmed by Siva and bankrolled by Gnanavel Raja-led Studio Green and UV Creations, the epic fantasy actioner had its grand theatrical release yesterday (November 14) and opened to mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. The Tamil biggie also released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.

Featuring Suriya in dual roles, Kanguva stars Boby Deol as the deadly antagonist 'Udhiran' and Disha Patani as the leading lady 'Angelina'. According to Sacnilk, 'Kanguva' kickstarted its grand theatrical journey on a happening note with a total collection of Rs 22 cr (including all languages).

While the majority of the earnings came from the Tamil region, the film had a surprising opening in the Hindi belt as well. As per the same report, the Hindi version of the movie collected Rs 3.25 cr on the day of its release. For those unversed, the film's Hindi opening day report was better than Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan' and Thalapathy Vijay's 'GOAT' ( The Greatest Of All Time).

Will Suriya, Bobby & Disha's Kanguva be able to surpass Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor & Saif Ali Khan-starrer Devara Part 1 Hindi's opening day numbers today? For those unversed, the Hindi version of Devara had opened to a solid opening day collection of Rs 7.5 cr (nett). To surpass Devara Hindi's day 1 numbers, Kanguva needs to earn approximately Rs 4.25 cr today.

If the prediction report turns out to be right, Kanguva is unlikely to cross Devara's opening day numbers (Hindi) today. However, it's not impossible though.

According to reports, the OTT streaming rights of Kanguva have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video and the film is said to be available on the said streaming app on the occasion of Pongal, which is reported to be January 14, 2025. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
