Khadaan (Bengali) Box Office Collection Day 5: It's indeed a Happy Birthday for superstar Dev. The actor-turned-politician, who has turned 42 years old today, is currently basking in the success of his latest release 'Khadaan'. Directed by Soojit Dutta, the Bengali-language action-thriller has had a massive start at the box office with audiences flocking to the theatres, leaving up to the high buzz around the release. Amid high anticipation, Khadaan hit cinemas on 20th December across Bengal.

Starring Dev as 'Shyam Mahato', Khadaan also features Jisshu Sengupta in the lead. The movie marks Dev-Jisshu's onscreen reunion after several years. Jointly produced by Dev's Dev Entertainment Ventures and Surinder Films, the film also features Anirban Chakrabarty, Idhika Paul and Barkha Bisht among others in important roles.
As per Sacnilk, Khadaan opened to mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike, earning Rs 68 lakhs on the day of its release. Due to the positive word-of-mouth, the film witnessed solid growth in the weekend. Dev's Khadaan saw a dip in numbers on first Monday but remained strong at ticket counters. According to Sacnilk, the Bengali-language film saw further dip yesterday and minted around Rs 54 lakhs on first Tuesday. Despite the drop, the film has been giving a tough competition to the other big Hindi releases (including Pushpa 2 and Baby John) in Bengal.

Khadaan Mints More Than Bohurupi On 1st Tuesday
Dev's Khadaan marks the biggest opening for an Bengali film. Not only that, Khadaan is on its way to become the highest-grossing Bengali film ever. It has minted more than what Abir Chatterjee-Shiboprasad Mukherjee's 'Bohurupi' collected on its first Tuesday. As per Sacnilk, Bohurupi had grossed around Rs 3.05 cr in 5 days. For those unversed, Bohurupi had released on 8th October (Tuesday).
