Directed by Barry Jenkins, the epic musical-adventure is enjoying a gala run in theatres in India. The film, which hit cinemas on 20th December 2024, serves as the prequel to the 2019 film 'The Lion King'. The Indian dubbed versions of Mufasa: The Lion King have sparked excitement among fans.
For those unversed, Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan lent their voices tot he Hindi version of the film, while Mahesh Babu and Arjun Das dubbed for Telugu and Tamil versions respectively.

Amid high buzz, Mufasa: The Lion King opened to mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. As per Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 8.3 cr on the day of its release, followed by significant jump in numbers on the opening weekend.
The Disney animated film, which chronicles the origin of Mufasa, raked in around Rs 13.25 cr on Saturday and Rs 17.3 cr on Sunday. According to the latest Sacnilk report, the Hollywood film witnessed a sharp drop by nearly 63% yesterday and scored approximately Rs 6.4 cr on day 4 in India. As of now, the total 4-day nett collection is estimated to be at Rs 45.25 cr in India.
Day 1 (Friday): ₹ 8.3 cr
Day 2 (Saturday): ₹ 13.25 cr
Day 3 (Sunday): ₹ 17.3 cr
Day 4 (Monday): ₹ 6.4 cr

Given the current buzz, Lion King: The Mufasa is likely to see upward growth on Christmas. The film is expected to earn somewhere between Rs 6-8 cr today (Tuesday, December 24), maintaining a hold at ticket counters.
If the prediction turns out to be right, then Mufasa: The Lion King might cross the Rs 50 cr-mark today itself at the Indian box office.
